A 'Pushin', or 'Push-under' hearth is an additional to the original hearth piece, designed to be placed behind the main hearth to conceal the concrete floor inside the fire chamber.
A hearth pushing is not always required for all fireplaces, it is recommend with certain fireplaces as they offer a more aesthetically pleasing fireplace finish.
